C-Anazone
Over-compression is the quiet cause of a leaking
circular anastomosis. MAC — minimal anastomotic
clearance — sets a floor on the distance between
anvil and cartridge, so the tissue cannot be crushed
however firmly the instrument is closed.
A large diameter ratio between the cut and the staple
line keeps the lumen generous, which is the other
half of the stenosis problem. The anvil is formed in
one piece and is thin enough to pass without
fighting the bowel.
